For her dissertation in history at Ohio State University, “We’re Going Too: The Children of the Birmingham Civil Rights Movement,” (here), Gisell Jeter turned to Kids in Birmingham 1963. She interviewed seven of the Kids Storytellers for insights into what it meant  to come of age as an African American child in Birmingham, Alabama, at the height of the civil rights movement.
